Stone Circles and Alignments in Co. Londonderry

Some 200 metres north of a by-road, in a rushy field above a ruined house and a blasted tree, stands a group of 4 circles, all of many low stones typical of the Mid-Ulster type of stone circle, and stone-rows – one of which extends for 18 metres.

This complex is comparable with the much more extensive and better-preserved group at Beaghmore, county Tyrone.

"This complex consists of five circles, five associated alignments, and a number of possible small cairns which are visible as grass-covered low mounds."

Re: Aughlish by Anonymous on Friday, 10 June 2022
My husband and I found the location, but the field for entry is surrounded in new fencing and barbed wire. There is even barbed wire over the old steps thru the fence. The sheep were with lambs and there was at least one protective ram, so we did not get to see these. It was clear the farmer is stopping access, which we respected.
