Menevegar Menhir submitted by Bladup : Menevegar Menhir. Bloody quarries made it be moved and it also didn't need the silly plaque putting directly onto the stone. It should have been put on the rocks below the stone really. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Originally on the St Austell Downs for circa 3,000 years, it was moved in the 1970s to this green in Roche.

Menevegar Menhir submitted by AngieLake : The Longstone, or Menevegar menhir at Roche in Cornwall. Moved here in 1970 from Longstone Downs. Find it acting as a focal point in the centre of an old persons' complex on St Dennis Road, Roche.

Menevegar Menhir
Menevegar Menhir submitted by AngieLake : *The Longstone* plaque fixed on the side of this lovely stone, now almost hidden in the bushes, graces a central green at an old-persons' bungalow complex on the left of St Dennis Road as you leave the centre of the village of Roche. Reads:*The Longstone. This stone, erected during the Bronze Age on the Longstone Downs, was removed to this site in August 1970*
