Holy Well / Spring in Cornwall.
The village of St Gennys is easy to find on the map near Crackington Haven.

The church is situated in a dell amongst the high cliffs of the North Cornish coast and from a seat at the far end of the graveyard you can look out over the ever surging sea quite unaware of the high cliffs just below you. Park in the carpark at the end of the road and take the path to the church. On the right hand side of the path the green drops away steeply. St Gennys Well is tucked into a fold of the slope and when we visited in April 2006 the green was neatly mown and access across it to the well preserved wellhouse was not an issue … in stark contrast to the rating given above.

St Genny's Well
St Genny's Well submitted by cazzyjane : The second St Genny's Well, found at the side of the church said to have been constructed by the local vicar to encourage more visitors to his church. It is inscribed with the words 'THE HOLY WELL OF ST GENNY'S CIRCA 6th CENT RESTORED 1927', but this could possibly have been built on earlier foundations. (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)

St Genny's Well
St Genny's Well submitted by cazzyjane : St Genny's Well. This is the original Holy well, the other being found at the side of the church supposedly built by a previous vicar to encourage pilgrims to the church, though it could have been built on earlier foundations. Unfortunately, it is now looking a little neglected and its broken bars make it look like its saying 'Dare to drink here and I will bite!' (Vote or comment on this photo)

St Genny's Well
St Genny's Well submitted by KiwiBetsy : It was to this secluded and isolated spot that in the 7th century a Celtic Monk, St Genesius came. He taught the locals the Christian message and baptised them in this well.
