Sacredspace visited on 16th Jul 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Fynnon Fair, St Mary's Well housed in a little stone building set down in the hillside, a very short walk away from the carpark area by the statue of our Lady of Penrhys.
I was very happy to see that the well was filled with water but also very sad to see damage, litter and smashed glass all around the building. The well outlet pool was filled with litter. A far cry from the original pilgrimage days of Penrhys when it was the most important and holy place in the whole of Wales.
The views of the surrounding are are absolutely stunning & wellitself felt very sacred even with the damage and litter

From Coflein: "A rectangular, stone-built structure, c.4.5m by 3.0m, having an exagerated E gable, housing the well chamber of a natural spring, associated with the late medieval pilgrimage centre of Penrhys."
