St Patrick's Well (Patterdale) submitted by Antonine : This is near the spot where St Patrick baptised the people of Ullswater, where he preached on the banks of the lake circa 450 AD. Patterdale is named after him. The holy well was known for curing sickness. Photo 2011 (Vote or comment on this photo)

St Patrick's Well (Patterdale) submitted by AngieLake : Spare a thought for the local villagers at Glenridding, who are now enduring their fourth flood in 8 weeks as Storm Jonas hits the Cumbrian coast. (See: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3416948/Storm-Jonas-killed-41-brings-UK-4-inches-rain-70mph-gales.html) This was the peaceful view on the same day I photographed St Patrick's Well, just along the road from the now-swollen beck.

St. Patrick's not well. Not well at all. The only thing left is the fascia, the rest has been cemented in. What a dissapointment.
