Dedicated to Saint Tewdric who was mortally wounded here. Tewdric is buried under a slab in the church in Mathern.

Dedicated to Saint Tewdric, this is a well with strong energy, though scant flow and little-known. Tewdric's body is interred under a slab in the nearby church.

Thanks for the grid-ref and the ratings. Our ratings range from 0 to 5 (see the tooltip boxes when you go over Condition, Ambience and Access) so I convert yours (0 ... 10?) to ours.

The grid reference given is to a lighthouse in the middle of the sea off St Piere. (4figure grid given when perhaps 6figures needed to locate properly)

I suspect the reference should be to the Saints Well by the roadside at Mathern ST523912. This though in the shadow of a motorway bridge has great atmosphere, as does the whole Caldicot Levels
