Cairn in Iceland
On the mountain Hjörleifshöfði is the burial mound of the Viking Hjörleifur Hróðmarsson. He was the second settler on Iceland and blood brother of Ingólfur Arnarson (c. 849 – c. 910), the first Icelandic settler (there is a big statue of him in Reykjavík). They had the same great-grandfather, Hrómundur Gripsson.
The information and the history of the two brothers-in-law can be found and read in the 'Landnáma - the Book of Settlement of Iceland'. The blood-brothers arrived in Iceland around the year 874. One year later Hjörleifur was killed by his Irish slaves and was buried on top of the mountain.
A fine video can be found on youtube from a hike to the burial mound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7__5ZzOC9qw
Sidefact: The mountain was also used in the Star Wars film 'Rogue One' as scenery.
