The hillfort at Gullset is one of two hillforts in Selbu. The Gullset hillfort is located on a tall elongated rocky hill oriented north to south. The West side have almost vertical rocky cliffs down to a small lake to the west. On the west side there are no walls. A small footpath leads from a small parking lot on a dirt country road and up to the hillfort.
The hillfort have to places with possible entry. One to the north and one south. The side to the north have a wall around 20 metres in length closing off this route. This wall is very difficult to see since a lot of it have fallen over and overgrown with moss. The east side also have long walls. They are also difficult to see and are more visible as elongated ramparts of earth rather than stones. They follow almost the length of the hill except in a few places where it has completely fallen over. The least steep side to the south-east have double walls. It is difficult to see the size of the walls but they might have followed the entire north east and south side.
The wall on the south side of the hill where the footpath enters the hillfort the walls are easiest visible. They are also fallen but it is possible to get an impression about the size of the walls. The big amount of stones here suggest the walls at this side have been very thick and high. Maybe as thick as 5-6 metres.
