Ströböhög is a mound dating from between 400 AD to 1050 AD some 40 metres in diameter and 11 metres high located on the northern outskirts of the town of Köping. The site is just north of the exit from the E18 freeway onto highway 250 which runs north from Köping. The site sign relates two legends concerning the mound. The first is that a giant carrying a bag of gravel stopped to survey the lake and a hole in his gravel bag allowed stones to fall out and form the mound. The second is that a cottage with a light burning occasionally lies inside the mound, the key to the cottage being held at Nyckelberget mountain. Reference: Riksantikvarieämbetet Fornsök 56:1
