Along the east side of the island Tromøya there are several sites with burial cairns (gravrøyser). They are mostly located along the edge of the forest on a natural terrace with the sea short just to the east. The burial cairns would have been easily visible from the sea.
Further south west is a group of three round burial cairns. They are all of similar size, around 9-10 metres in diameter and from 1 to 1,5 metres in height. They all have dug outs in the centre. They are easy to see in the low grass with some older pine trees growing on top.
The area itself is inside Raet national park and is a popular hiking/picnic location.
