Square-shaped boulder measuring about 2x2 meters. Visible height is 60cm.

Many local myths are connected with the Semnonenstein. One of them is about a disappeared ancient town (Blumenthal) which was allegedly located around the stone (with the Semnonenstein originally placed on the marketplace).

It´s is just a "Sage" about a disappeared town in the Blumenthal forest. The inhabitants have been died by pestilence... German author Theodor Fontante wrote in the 19th century about the Blumenthal Stadtstelle as a haunted place. for more information see:
Blumenthal

Hi, Kai Hoffmann. With "myths" you`ve perhaps meant VOLKSAGEN? It would be fine, if you could specify some details of those folk-sagas and the locality. You know, there could have been a wetland or a moor around and the stone maybe was immersed some months under water? If so; it could have been a mythical town in the Underworld, where the life begins when a big horse ( a form of a pagan Creator) strikes with his hooves against the stone. From under the stone comes a waterstream that can`t be stopped. Well; I`ve been looking for a repetition of this mythical pattern since some years back, but until now in vain.
