Prehistoric settlement in Bavaria
This site is an ancient Celtic settlement. During the excavations archaeologists found no relicts of a wall, but they discovered a lot of artefacts that were produced during Celtic times and great number of tools with which they were produced. Pollanten was closely connected to other Celtic oppida of the region such as Kelheim and the famous Manching oppidum. It was excavated several times and is now described in some voluminous excavation reports. In spite of this fact I could not detect any sign on the road or nearby.
