Menhir Lásenice submitted by ladrin : Standing stone is only about 50 cm tall and is said to glows at night. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stone (Menhir) in Bohemia. Nice shaped though rather modest standing stone in the South Bohemia region. This menhir is mentioned in a few books and is believed to be truly ancient. About half a meter tall menhir has distinct grooves and depression on its dark surface

. According local legends the stone is celtic origin and somehow glows at night.

On a small hill in sight of the stone a medieval stronghold use to stand. An earthen ramparts and ditches are still visible in these days. The archeological findings confirm gothic origin of the fortress but some other evidence points to an already ancient Slavic settlement of the place.
