Cave/Rock Shelter at Rosenstein mountain near Heubach in Baden-Wuerttemberg

The Rosenstein (height appr. 735m) is an isolated mountain near Schwäbisch-Gmünd. There are several caves close together. Tools found in these caves date back to the paleolithic age. Among these caves the “Große Scheuer” (translation: ~“Big Barn”) is one of the most well-known. Length is only 50m, but the cave is comparatively wide (6m) and high (7m). Along with its 3 entrances it has probably been a very suitable site for stone age people.
