Ancient Village or Settlement in Syria
Standard Syrien Tell, as in the rest of the region. Over generations of habitation, settlements tended to grow in altitude as and when old structures, mostly mud brick, were destroyed and built over. This mound has a government marker, but has otherwise not been excavated yet.
The first explorers found old cities by sheer luck or when a farmer's plow hit a statue. For the purpose of illustration.
In Turkish, they are called either Tepe or Hoyuk. 290 Meters Altitude at base.
