More than 200 tumuli, including chambered cairns sit on the mountains behind the City of Takamatsu, capital of Kagawa prefecture. The largest chambered cairns lie on the top of the mountain. Their quality and size are outstanding by Japanese standards, where chambered cairns are rare.

Around a quarter of them have been demolished but there are still some amazing sites. The mountains are named Iwaseo-yama (石清尾山) as a whole, individually called Mine-yama (峰山), Shiun-zan (紫雲山) and Jōganji-yama (浄願寺山).
10 of the cambered cairns on Iwaseo-yama mountain are registered as the National Historic Sites : Iwaseoyama Kofun no.9 (石清尾山9号墳) - Keyhole shaped : 34.33360N,134.02477E
