Holed Stone in Kyūshū

On the "Y" shaped crossroad of the 2 sugarcane roads on an island "Kohama-jima", a coral limestone is placed. They say that the ancient Kohama people stuck sticks in the 12 holes in this stone to guess the seasons, but it is very hard to distinguish the 12 holes in this porous limestone.

"Shichi-Sadame-Ishi" means 'season-determination-stone'.
