St. Anthony's monastery in a stone mountain cliff, dating from the beginning of the 9th century. It is hard to see its small entrance doors which are typical of monasteries in the area.

Kawkaba Phoenician Grotto

Road work unearths Phoenician grotto in south Lebanon. Rock Cut Tomb in Lebanon. Three shallow chambers, dating to the "Phoenician era" were found during road building activities. Cut into a natural limestone surface, the chambers contained human remains, jars, and 50 oil lamps.

Temple of Eshmun

The Temple of Eshmun is an ancient place of worship dedicated to Eshmun, the Phoenician god of healing. It is located near the Awali river, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) northeast of Sidon in southwestern Lebanon. The site was occupied from the 7th century BCE to the 8th century CE, suggesting an integrated relationship with the nearby city of Sidon.
