]]>Nowadays the barrow of this megalithic tomb is restored, but all the megaliths are lost. It is the southern-most known megalithic site in the Netherlands and has an interesting isolated position. The nearest other megalithic sites are 30km away in the East (Lingen-Rheine group) and 35km in the North (Drenthe South-group). (see our interactive map )

]]>A large glacial erratic at the tourist office in Markelo. It was found somewhere around 1900 on the Kattenberg and moved to its current spot in 1988. It is named after a large English field gun.

]]>'Koe en Kalf' (Cow and Calf) are two large erratics near Steenwijk. They are located on top of a low hill called 'De Bult' surrounded by a half circle of trees. Legend has it that it used to be an old germanic court of justice.
