]]>The largest Neolithic settlement in the Visoko basin of central Bosnia and, by area, the largest known site of the whole Butmir group. Founded about 5200 BCE, the tell covered some 7.5 hectares with occupation deposits up to 3m deep, before shrinking to about 1.2 hectares by around 4500 BCE. Its size relative to its neighbours points to a ranked settlement pattern and the beginnings of a more complex society in the Late Neolithic.
