La Pierre Carree is thought to be an important stone within the Manio/Quadrilatere complex.

It's deliberate squared shaping marks the 90 degree angle of a 3:4:5 triangle in relationship to La Dame and Geant Du Manio stones, marking the Summer Solstice sunrise to La Geant.
