drolaf visited on 21st Jun 2022 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 5 Access: 2 a prominent position on the hill with a superb views over the islands, and it lines up with the Setter stone and Mill loch cairn down the hill. it was very damp and there was a fine mist or dust in the chambers. The corbelled side cells are quite large compared to Wideford and Cuween. One side cell had water in.

One of a number of chambered tombs along the Heritage Trail on the isle of Eday. The most impressive is the Vinquoy Chambered Cairn, a restored Maeshowe-type tomb made from red Eday sandstone, for which the island is well known. It measures approximately 55 feet in diameter and a little over eight feet in height and has an entrance passage leading to a central chamber with four small side-cells.

This Neolithic chambered cairn on Vinquoy Hill commands superb views across much of the Orkney archipelago.

i'd recommend that essential equipment for going in these chambers is a pair of kids skateboard knee protectors.
