Passage Grave near Emmen in Drenthe

D38, D39 and D44 stand in a delightful heathland clearing in the forest north of Emmen. They're all a bit wrecked, but the location is so gorgeous, they're well worth visiting.

D39 Emmen
D39 Emmen submitted by Martin_L : Pole aerial view from the SE. The 4,4m long chamber is well preserved and oriented almost SW-NE, with an entrance (marked "E") between orthostats SE2 and SE3. The tomb is largely embedded into significant remains of its barrow. Only the tops of orthostats are visible. Most probably it had a passage, but this is lost as well as capstone C1 and C3.
