Burial Chamber (Dolmen) in Midi:Lot (46)

Barrières1 is a small dolmen of which only three orthostats survive, the capstone has long gone. It was named that by a teacher of History who has been working on the history of the area. This dolmen is still on a tumulus but it is difficult to find as it is hidden from the road by a wall and brambles. The dolmen is situated in a field on the left, near the road, as we approach the abandoned village of Barrières coming from the D20 which joins Carennac and Miers.

Also, It is easy to spot nearby (ten steps away) a little elevation, a lump of soil and stones like a flat barrow, and consider it might be another little tumulus.

Barrières1 is 10 minutes away from the Dolmen of Barrières.

NB: Latitude and Longitude taken from the Flash Earth site.
