Googling for 'Schalenstein' I found the coat of arms of the small village Beringstedt. It shows a Schalenstein, a detailed sketch.

So I went there and tried to find it. But there was only the usual WW2 memorial, and on the opposite side of the road, a stone with an inscription for 'Kaiser Wilhelm', from 1897.

But then I saw four old ladies walking down the street, in best mood, flowers in the hands. I stopped and asked them. 'Excuse me, you know that stone in your villages sign? How can I find it?' And they pointed me back to that Kaiser Wilhelm stone, also telling me they were on the way for a birthday party.

'But that's not a Schalenstein'
'Oh yes it is ! Look on the backside !!'
Surprise.
Those cup marks are not deep, I could touch and feel them, but I am afraid they don't show up in the pictures.
