La Coumette
La Coumette submitted by richardfrance : This menhir is not marked on any map [nor is the lower menhir] and I can find no reference to it online. Yet it is in a fairly prominent position, seems well-tended, and has a path linking it to the lower stone. More info & photos on my blog: www.dolmen.wordpress.com (Vote or comment on this photo)
La Coumette is a tall, slim, handsome stone - looking out over a valley that has unusual features and alignments.

Drive out of Lagrasse on the D3, turning left to Tournissan. The lower menhir is on the left before the village. Turn right in the village for Talairan and at the first fork go right on a metalled lane for 2km. This upper menhir stands atop a small hill - and possibly a tumulus - on the right about 100 metres after the tarmac ends.

La Coumette submitted by richardfrance : It stands 2.5 m. tall with the flat faces set E-W and its narrow edge in a line to the lower menhir. For more on this and other megaliths in the region: www.dolmen.wordpress.com (Vote or comment on this photo)

Re: La Coumette by Anonymous on Thursday, 03 January 2019
