Cromlech du Menec-est
Cromlech du Menec-est submitted by postman : Very overshadowed by the multiple rows of stones the remains of this once large stone circle now partly inhabit some locals garden. jammy begger. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This cromlech, described by Burl, is difficult to see, but if you walk to the far eastern end of the Menec rows, it can just be made out, although 'much damaged' as Burl says.

The shape is easier to see on aerial photography, such as that in the geoportail map on this page. What can be seen are some of the stones of the outside, and the sudden lack of stones in the central area. It is also visible that the stones which edge the cromlech (many of which are missing, but those which can be seen) are differently aligned to those of the rows, and are closer together in places.

Because it is not possible to walk on this site now (it's the bit over the last road before reaching the Kermario alignments, but clearly at the end of the Menec rows) it is not easy to see the stones on the furthest side. Burl says 25 stones survive, mostly on the western side. Some are also visible on the eastern and northern edges.

It's not a long walk, but you can't get to it, because of the fences. This makes its shape difficult to recognise.

Cromlech du Menec-est
Cromlech du Menec-est submitted by LizH : This rather dim picture does make clear the different direction of the stones in the cromlech from those of the Menec alignments which are behind them. The stones of the western arc of the cromlech face into the space in front of it. (Vote or comment on this photo)
