I have visited· I would like to visit

CharcoalBurner89 visited on 18th Aug 2022 - their rating: Cond: 5 Amb: 5 Access: 4 A really beautiful museum. Although not particularly large, it still shines with a very large number of finds, expert staff who are happy to inform you about the exhibits, changing special exhibitions and an in-house shop where you can buy true-to-the-original self-made stone axes etc. from the museum's volunteer staff. It was definitely worth the visit today and I will be happy to come back!

Since 2001, the Archaeological Working Group has had its headquarters in a former forester's house from the 17th century in Bad Fallingbostel. Since May 2002 it has maintained a museum there with prehistoric, historical and geological sections. The permanent exhibition is "Traces of the past. Archaeology in the Region".

The jewellery of the “Bride from Hungary” is also shown in this exhibition; Jewelery that was found in Fallingbostel in 1904 and is considered a special feature of the early Bronze Age in our area. In addition to this permanent exhibition, the museum also presents changing exhibitions.

Finally had the time to visit this museum! Thanks are also due to the late Holger Rix, who first drew my attention to the museum through the site he created here.
