Sculptured Stone in Tessin
This fragment of a stele with celtic inscription was discovered around 1930 – 1932.
The inscription in Lepontic characters reads:
]osik[
]iuka[
The stele has a length of 30 cm, a breadth of 50 cm and a width of 10 cm. It was dated to the end of the 4th to the beginning of the 2nd Century BC.
It is safely kept in a depot of Ufficio Cantonale dei Beni Culturali, Viale Stefano Franscini 30a, 6501 Bellinzona. telephone +41 91 814 13 80
