Museum in Zug

The Cantonal Museum of Prehistory (ies) has been in existence since 1930 with the aim of preserving and researching the archaeological finds of the Canton of Zug. In the beginning, the sponsorship formed a foundation. Later, the museum was gradually taken over by the Canton of Zug.

The Museum of Prehistory offers a contemporary exhibition for schools and families, enthusiasts and experts. The archaeological finds from Canton Zug are presented in a lively manner. A tour with true-to-life scenes, settlement models and stories visualises everyday life from the Ice Age to the Early Middle Ages.
