The settlemet was at its peak in the 3rd century, when it contained 26 terp houses, approximately 450 animals (sheep, horses, pigs and bovini) and 300 people. The terp was 4 m above the surrounding ground level. They used ca. 300 ha of the surrounding area for farming.
In summary, 8 phases of the settlement can be distinguished, which contained 319 buildings in summary.
Principally comparable terp settlements were found in Alsum, Barward, Dingen, Dorsum and Fallward (Land Wursten/Lower Saxony).
Finds from and models about Feddersen Wierde are displayed in the Landesmuseum Hannover in Hannover, in the Historisches Museum Bremerhaven in Bremerhaven and in the Museum Burg Bederkesa in Bad Bederkesa.
Today, the ancient terp site is not signposted but can be recognized as a large, flat mound in the otherwise plane landscape.
