aolson visited on 2nd Feb 2019 - their rating: Cond: 5 Amb: 5 Access: 4 The most impressive megalithic site I have visited. It was amazing to walk along the top of the hill and watch a seemingly endless number of menhirs, stone circles, and rows appear out of the fog.

In the Althau forest east of Oberlunkhofen two formidable erratics of over 100 tonnes each form the central nodes of a complex network of over 70 stones, at least 30 of which are standing. Some of the menhirs have been re-erected in the last few years

The whole setting gives the impression of a "Megalithic Disneyland"
