Sculptured Stone in Piemonte

Unfinished project, that's how I want to call this beautiful little stone in Crampiolo, Val Devero (Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola).
I spotted it on a grey day thanks to its single cup which was full of rain water, in the meadow just outside the Crampiolo chapel. I showed it to my local friends and they were very surprised: that kind of local stone, greenish in colour, with its very smooth surface, apparently is very hard to shape even with modern machinery.
A little more water in the cup mark and the fluid overspilled down a neatly shaped short channel to reach a longer horizontal cut, this one bordered with a zig-zag-like decoration. But what a surprise! The water also cleaned the surface of the lower side of the stone and there, perfectly visible, I could see, cut after cut, the lines drawn to (I suppose) shape more channels as well as signs of some rubbing to crate a deeper groove within two dividing lines.
A great experience in a lovely place.
