The Summstein ("Humming Stone") is a modern stone sculpture in the Mäckingerbachtal valley in Hagen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).

The visitor has to put the head into the hole of the stone and breath out with a humming tone. The sound is supposed to be echoed from the stone back towards the visitor, as explained by an information panel. The echoed sounds are supposed to be felt within the body of the visitor.

The limestone itself has a weight of 11 t and stems from the quarry Seltenbergs in Oege/Hagen. It is between 360 and 400 million years old.

The Summstein is situated in the Hagen Open-air Museum since 2011.

The Summstein is situated in the Hagen Open Air Museum. The museum displays entire historic buildings in the context of their use in early industry. A recent approach of experimental archaeology presents a rebuilt pre-historic Iron Age blast furnace. The blast furnace can be seen in action.
