The Heilsteinquelle is a well in Simmerath-Einruhr (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). The well was most likely already used by the Romans during the time of the Gallic Wars, as indicated by Roman coins (ca. 50 BC) found near the well.
It has been speculated that the site might even have served as a Roman sanctuary. The well exit must have been destroyed in the subsequent centuries. The site was rediscovered in 1826, together with the Roman coins.
The well exit was rebuilt in 2003. It lies in the inner courtyard of the Heilsteinhaus (formerly known as Bürgerhaus).
The well pit at the Heilsteinhaus is 47 m deep. Another well exit lies in the Vogelsang military training area. It is accessible since 2006.
