This location is the original site of the Møgedal Runestone. It was found during road construction with the inscription oriented on the lower side of the stone. The stone is 3 metres in length, 1 metre wide and around 40cm thick. The runic inscription is from the older futhark and the stone has been dated to around 500AD.
The stone was divided in three parts and the parts were used as filling in the road. The pieces were later taken dug up and transported to Stavanger Museum of Archaeology, where it is now on display.
The runic inscription is carved with large runes running down one of the widest sides and it has been translated to "LabigaR" (probably a male name.)
