Ancient Settlement in Russia

Arkaim is a settlement of the Sintashta-Petrovka culture, associated with Indo-Iranians in the Southern Urals steppe, Russia, just to the north from the Kazakhstani border. The site can be dated to between 1700 BCE and 2000 BCE. have been proposed. The site was surrounded by two roundish earthen fortification walls strengthened with timber frames and mud bricks of 160 metres in diameter. The wall was up to 5 metres thick and up to 5.5 metres tall and was surrounded with a 2 metre deep moat. There were 4 gates, the main one being to the west. There was a central agora, surrounded by two concentric circles of houses separated by a street. Up to 2500 people could have live in the 66 houses of Arkaim.
Arkaim is similar to the neighbouring settlement of Sintashta, where the earliest known chariot was excavated, but much better preserved .

Really a gr8 invention! :-) It has got tremondous impact on the Archeology Knowledge bank about Indo-Aryans. It is as important escavation as Harappa & Mohanjadaro cultues in India on the banks of Sarasvati-Sindu rivers. The other important recent escavations - Underwater (marine) escavations in Beth Dwarka, India & in Okinawa, Japan which date to same period 1500 BC-2000 BC. Especially it breaks up the myths like Aryan Invasion Theory! It is the time to update the Archeology maps and history text books withn the recent findings.

It does not 'break up' the myth as you put it of the Aryan invasion.Arkaim is outside India and Iran but shows the direction the Aryans came from. Why do you insist on using inaccurate misleading terminology like invasion ? The Sintasha culture can be traced archaeologically, and genetically to the earlier Yamnaya culture to the west. People spealing an Indo-Iranic language, an off shoot of earlier Proyo-indo European did live in the Sintasha -Arkaim region and did bring at least their language type to northern India and Iran, it does not mean an invasion, it was probably slow and piecemeal.
