La Pierre de Bray
La Pierre de Bray submitted by Alta-Falisa : Anonymous sketch, made before 1753. The "Atlas de Ferraris" (see separate entry) allows a rather precise assumption of the location of the stone. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stone (Menhir) in Hainaut

The stone does not exist any more. It is precisely described in archives and by a sketch made before 1753, when it was broken into smaller pieces to repair a canal. The stone is figured on maps established by Eugene Henri Fricx (1644-1730) [non vidi], and still on the Atlas de Ferraris (1771-1778) folio 65.

The coordinates given are approximative (accuracy : 20 m or so) ; it is surprising to see how closely today's roads (not the motorways) follow ancient paths and earth roads.

This stone is gone. Destroyed as explained in the description.
Also, the only photo being this sketch and nothing else being expected, you can frankly use it to identify the menhir.
