Ancient Village or Settlement in Syria

Arpad was the capital of the Bit-Agusi city-state of the Aramaeans in the 1st millennium BCE. The mound was excavated in the 1950s and 60s and access to the site is difficult, but it is possible to some remains, including the 16th - 15th centuries BCE or Middle Bronze Age mud brick fortification wall, from the side of the tell. There are also basalt and limestone masonry remains possibly belonging to the Aramaean city.
