Introducing the Rock Art Bridge between Finland and Russia by Andy B on Wednesday, 08 February 2017
(User Info | Send a Message)
The White Sea region petroglyphs as well as the Värikallio neolithic rupestrian drawings are unique examples of the Northern European primitive art. These monuments might have been created by common Finno-Ugric ancestors of contemporary Karelian and Finnish people.

Rock Art Bridge combines knowledge of ancient Finnish and Russian monuments. and in strengthening cross-border cooperation in cultural tourism between The Republic of Karelia and Finland.

The Rock Art Bridge Project gives opportunities to study the primitive art monuments as well highlight issues of their preservation and usage.

It is an international Russian-Finnish project funded by the Karelia ENPI CBC Program, the EU, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland.
