Mallorca's most customer-friendly talaiotic site, well signposted from Arta.

Easy route 1km. small car park, small entrance fee (closed for long lunch/siesta!). signpost-guided tour of site in 3 languages. postcards and very good guide-book for sale very cheaply.

Central talaiot surrounded by various rooms; wider settlement surrounded by vitually unbroken wall, with spectacular main entrance.

ps: local curator's speculation as to the large hole 'drilled' (or perhaps a fortuitously chosen 'natural') through the main entrance lintel (see excellent photos) was that it functioned as a 'megaphone' to impress ancient visitors! I didn't try it out, but the theory chimes with the sensible later theories of paul devereaux on ancient soundscapes in eg Malta's hypogeum...
