Ancient Temple in Manisa Province, Turkey

Sardis was, until 549 BCE, the capital of the kingdom of Lydia when I was conquered by the Medes under Cyrus the great. Thereafter it was ruled by the Seleucids and the Romans.

The temple measured 99 metres by 46 metres but was never finished.
