43559959 visited on 5th Oct 1991 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 5 Access: 4 A visit to see the city with one harbour in the Aegean and one in the Mediterranean on a photo shoot in Turkey. A hazardous drive to get there as far as I rememeber, but worth it after the late luch with grillef fish and lots of Retzina.

Remains of 4th century BCE Hellenistic town, which had a major theatre as well as a round Temple of Athena which had 18 columns and was 13 metres in diameter.

Parts of the frieze depict scenes that relate to Dionysus, while the style of these elements allows the building to be dated to the late Hellenistic period.
