Dragonhouses submitted by PhotoWorks : Site in Attica/Central Greece (Vote or comment on this photo)
The dragon houses are some twenty large ruined buildings found in the south of the Greek island of Euboea. They were built with massive stone blocks without mortar and with large stone slabs for the roof. There is still much debate about their age and function. No mention is identified in classical texts and the first account was from the 18th-century British geologist, traveller and writer John Hawkins. These structures are unique to Euboea.

Breathtaking drone view of the Drakospito at the summit of Mount Ochi, Euboea. Despite the lack of data this was surely a temple to Zeus and Hera. Mythology says it was here that Zeus and Hera first got together. Indeed, Ochi means "consummation of love" in the ancient Greek dialect. Must have been glorious before it went so wrong. Kudos to Up Stories for the arduous hike up the mountain to make this video.
