I have visited· I would like to visit

mfrincu visited on 6th Sep 2015 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 5 Access: 3 The trail is clearly marked with a white and blue vertical stripes all the way from the road to the site. I was in good shape and made it in 40 minutes. It is the only Dacian fortress whose walls have never been breached. The defenders had to surrender after the Romans besieged them and cut their water supplies.

Hillfort in Romania

Ancient Dacian Hillfort in heavily forrested area. This is the best preserved Dacian hillfort as it was never stormed by the Romans. The dacians simply abanodned it when the situation became hopeless. 714 Meters altitude Position from handheld GPS device Unesco World Heritage Site

Note: 1 hour hike up the hill from main paved road. You need a guide unless you have GPS device.
