Museum in Moravia

The Moravské zemské muzeum (Moravian Museum) counts several establishments.

The Dietrichstein Palace, in the center of Brno (at the foot of the hill on top of which the cathedral is built, seen from miles away) is the seat of the Moravian Museum. The second floor is dedicated to archaeology, ranging from paleolithic to middle ages ; the third floor to 20th c. history ; the first floor to mineralogy.

Compared to the "Anthropos Pavilion" also in Brno, http://www.mzm.cz/en/dietrichstein-palace/  which also belongs to the Moravian Museum, and the "Archeopark" Pavlov the "Dietrichstein Palace" seems a bit old-fashioned but, as such, interesting in showing how collections were once presented and, all the same, for the undisputable richness of the collections and the care deployed in their presentation.
And yes, you can buy a replica to scale of the "Venus of Dolní Věstonice" at the souvenirs shop at the entrance, as well as several books (most of them in Czech) !

Address : Zelný trh 8 (one of the major squares of central Brno)
The coordinates correspond to the entrance.
