Ancient Village or Settlement in Honshū
From mid-17th century, so many artifacts were excavated from this wetland. Kame-ga-Oka means "hill of the earthenware pot", and some of the artifacts were even exported. Although no residential ruins are discovered yet, this site is well-known for the strange 'dogū (=clay or stone figure)' with big eyes like Inuit's slit-goggles, without one of legs as usual for much of dogū's. This site is supposed to be built in BC400-1000. A museum is situated 1km away.
Now a giant stone replica of the dogū stands on the site.
On the facade of the closest (10km southbound) station Kizukuri (木造駅), 17m concrete replica is pasted. When trains arrived or stated, red light flickered between the eyelids. But the children of the neighborhood were scared, then the electric circuit was disconnected.
In Hachinohe Kōen (八戸公園) park, 100km away from the original site, there also stands 10m tall replica with her son.
