Chambered Cairn in Honshū
2 chambered cairns with gable ceilings, which are often discovered in Nagano prefecture and this is the sole example in Yamagata prefecture, on a vineyard slope of a hill. Cairn no.1 (38.04533N,140.19695E), now only its cist barely remains but the shape of the fragment reminds the gable ceiling, placed in a deserted vineyard.
Cairn no.2 (38.04581N,140.19681E), cairn surrounding the cist remain and the capstones keep the gable shape, lies in the bush above the vineyard, signposted with vivid pink ribbon fastened to the trees on the way.
