Standing Stone (Menhir) in Honshū
A standing stone with numerous accompanying round stones stands in a paddy (rice) field. The accompanying stones might be dug out from the field during the agricultural activities and piled around the ancient menhir.
"Tateishi” means 'standing stone', "Iseki" means 'ruin (site)' and "Kuromurehi" is Japanese transcription of 'cromlech'.
