Stone Circle in Honshū
During the construction of a dam in the wooded country, under Niu-Kawakami Jinja (丹生川上神社) shrine which had to move to the upper place, a rare example of stone circle in Nara Prefecture was discovered. The shrine may be the metamorphosis of worship style which began with the stone circle.
Now the circle is placed in Mori-to-Mizu-no Genryūkan (森と水の源流館 = Source Museum of the Forestry and the River), admission 400 Japanese Yen, open 9:00-17:00, closed on Wednesday and days around the new years day.
